Foodie Fridays are a fun, engaging, opportunity for GEN2050®️ students to learn about healthy eating principles and how to create a diverse diet of meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. Students work alongside experienced chefs in preparing, presenting, and serving delicious, multi-cultural meals incorporating foods grown in the Trinity Church Urban Garden and at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, and listed in our favorite cookbooks (shared in GEN2050®️ Reads).
One of our favorite Foodie Friday-inspired events is “Around the Family Table”. Around the Family Table was created to give GEN2050®️ families the opportunity to bond while learning about and making multi-cultural food. GEN2050®️ families learned how to develop nutritional meal plans, incorporate meatless meals (inspired by the Meatless Monday movement), and increase the variety of foods being used in the home.
Meatless Monday is a global movement with a simple message: once a week, cut the meat! Both Foodie Fridays and Around the Family Table incorporate meatless meals to teach the impact of meat production on the environment.
