STEAM is an educational approach that incorporates the Arts and Culture into the more-familiar STEM model: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  STEAM education has been an integral component of the GEN2050® program since 2017.  Beginning in June 2023, the first GEN2050® STEAM Module, entitled “The Sea” will be implemented by GEN2050® Summer Camp students and a small group of non-profits serving youth in Miami-Dade County, Florida.  The “GEN2050® STEAM Module: The Sea” is being developed by the GEN2050®️ team, along with the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, and Biscayne National Park.  All GEN2050® STEAM Modules will include mindfulness-based social emotional learning and wellness instruction, utilizing GEN2050® Mindful Learning Environment principles and practices. Additional GEN2050® STEAM Modules will become available each summer. Please note the current list below:

Mindfulness is being in the present moment, aware of what is happening in that moment as it's happening, with a nonjudgmental attitude. The GEN2050®️ Program was designed with mindfulness-based practices built into its foundation. Youth learn mindfulness-based practices and how to integrate mindfulness into their everyday lives, enhancing their social emotional wellness, reducing the impacts of stress, as well as increasing their capacity to practice gratitude and compassion.
